Detwiler Industries began in the 1980s as a
small, independent metal fabrication shop primarily focused on mass
production equipment for the food industry. Through the interaction
of Tim Detwiler with several marine experts and enthusiasts, the
Detwiler Hydrolift jack plate was developed. As the marine portion of the
business continued to grow, the focus gradually shifted from food
processing equipment to marine accessories. Ultimately, the marine
products became the sole focus of our company and since we are all
boating and fishing enthusiasts we applaud Tim’s sense of
direction.
Gradually, the Hydrolift
became the Hydro Jack Plate and with time we realized that when
one jack plate enthusiast encountered another and saw the
"HYDRO" on his jack plate the exchange
would go something like, "Wow, you have a Detwiler!" As a result,
in 2000 we changed the name from Hydro
to Detwiler.
The jack plate name is not all that has changed.

In 1998 our company was restructured as a
result of added venture capital.
New team members were added to our staff and a
business plan developed to build on the success of our marine products
by expanding the line. The outcome is the new All-In-One Series
of hydraulic jack
plates,
engine stabilizer clips, and several other products still in
various stages of development.
Although we have undergone many changes, we continue
to be a family oriented team of dedicated men and women with a strong
desire to use our talents to the best of our abilities in meeting
or exceeding our customers' expectations. We understand that a very
important key to our growth and success is our customers.
